Early theatre roots with Hearts of Art Theatre Group (Nairobi).

The group that uses "Hearts of Art" (stylized as H_art) in a prominent way in Nairobi's performing arts scene is actually a popular Afropop band called H_art The Band.

This band has significant "early theatre roots" in that its three founding members—Mordecai Mwini, Kenneth Muya, and Wachira Gatama—met in late 2012 while acting in a play about cancer awareness at the Kenya National Theatre.

Their shared passion for music, poetry, and general arts led them to form the band, which initially performed spoken word and acoustic music before gaining wider popularity with their music releases.
